$$ printing

It has been 1 week since we first installed the MICR print bar. There were a lot of frustrations since the day we said we want to implement MICR on Mobius. Now i am glad that we witness some progress :)

Parts. When you thought you are ready to go with set A, then someone told you you need set B parts. I was furious. He is supposed to be the one who gathered all the parts and not me. And he asked me to escalate and source for the parts myself? Arghh.. irresponsible. Then when i got the part, instead of him helping to assemble, he asked me to get the technicians to help! wowow, lazy ler.

Then when GeorgeF did a great help to get the parts in and we are ready fro installation. ta dah, all my 3 print bars are lost. Come on, i only need one and the printbar is so big, how could someone steal it. arghhh.. Then we tried to locate it and reliase this guy RobertB has taken that. He then said he can give me one as another two are in used. Come in, it is not 'GIVE' but 'RETURN'. I am the owner and not him. He does not sound apologectic at all. Fine. Actually i remember him, he was quite prideful when he introduced himself to me during my second week in SD.

The next best thing is my MICR pens, shipped especially from Corvallis to me are missing. The FedEx guys received it and they labeled it wrongly and sent to nowhere in San diego site. I almost want to faint. The last minute witty thing to do is to source for used pens and get it filled with MICR ink. That was a nightmare. But i do get what i want eventually.

After all those saga, i saw my MICR printbar finally get installed and we are ready to go! Sweat! We should still be staying on schedule for the 4/15 checkpoint.

I reliase there are alot of negotiations throughout the process. You need to lobby for help and negotiate for press time (many people share 1 giant press printer). It also requires patience and wisdom especially when you work as a team.

I still thank God for all these. It opens my eyes and i was in a relatively protected and easier work enviroment. Next step is to see my MICP pens spit and print more so that i can check for the signal level. Those are $$, a few hundred buck for 1 liter. This MICR ink is so expensive so i told my coworkers that i am printing money. haha.
